Hobart’s story began in 1897 in Troy, Ohio, USA, following the invention of one of the world’s first powered dishwashing machines.
By 1926, Hobart entered the commercial warewashing market, and by 1930, Hobart Maschinen Gesellschaft had been founded in Hamburg, Germany — establishing the European foundation of the company’s global success.
In the decades that followed, Hobart consistently redefined warewashing performance.
From the first flight-type dishwasher (1953) to the groundbreaking PREMAX line (2007) and SENSOTRONIC intelligent wash system (2009), Hobart has remained synonymous with engineering innovation and energy efficiency.
Today, Hobart operates production facilities in Elgersweier, Germany, employing more than 1,100 people in Germany and over 6,900 worldwide, serving over 60 countries.
